The Trust is pleased to be supporting the Burrell Collection’s new exhibition and educational project Drawing Inspiration which opens today.
This intimate exhibition displays choice drawings from the Burrell Collection (some of which have not been on public display in Glasgow for over thirty years) carefully selected to include a variety of techniques and media — from the delicate pencil marks of the neoclassicist Jean August Dominique Ingres, to the bold black lines of impressionist Éduard Manet and the sweeping, intense drawing of Jean François Millet.
A vibrant programme of facilitated creative activity for both adults and children has been designed around the drawings, including talks, tours, and a wide variety of artist-led workshops (both paid and free), to encourage the whole community to explore the art of drawing. The programme is designed to showcase the social and psychological benefits of drawing, supporting participants to use drawing as a tool to ignite their own creativity and explore the world around them, developing their confidence and strengthening their connection with others.
The exhibition and associated educational programme runs until 26 November 2026. Further information and tickets here.
